Cookies are therefore used to perform computer authentication, session tracking, and storage of information about users’ activities when accessing a website. They may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking of the user’s navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes.

  • Session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed.
  • Persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a predetermined expiration date.

Under current Italian law, the use of cookies does not always require the user’s explicit consent.
In particular, “technical cookies” — those used solely for the purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user — do not require consent.
In other words, these cookies are essential for the functioning of the website or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Equivalent to technical cookies (and therefore not requiring explicit consent) are also “analytics cookies” when used directly by the website operator (so-called “first-party” or “proprietary” cookies) to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site — or when provided by third parties, provided that tools are adopted to minimize their ability to identify users (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address).
Also included are “functionality cookies”, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language or products selected for purchase) in order to improve the quality of the service provided.

Unclassified Cookies
Unclassified cookies are those that do not belong to any other category or are in the process of being categorized.

The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies by adjusting their browser settings.
Please note: disabling all or part of the technical cookies may affect the use of certain website features reserved for registered users. Conversely, access to public content remains possible even when cookies are completely disabled.
Disabling third-party cookies does not affect website navigation in any way.

Cookie management settings can be customized for different websites and web applications. Moreover, the main browsers allow users to define separate settings for “first-party” and “third-party” cookies.
